Food security & Central Land Council

On 21 June Outback Stores participated in the ‘Food Security’ panel discussion at the full Central Land Council (CLC) meeting in Tennant Creek. Michael Borg, CEO of Outback Stores, attended the meeting, along with our team from Central Australia.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic Outback Stores has been on the forefront in ensuring that our retail community stores are well stocked with groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables.

Our partnership with CLC has ensured that the 14 stores in their region always maintain the best standards when it comes to accessing nutritious food while also delivering cultural, social, and commercial outcomes for the community.

“We have a long term relationship with the CLC. It was good to hear the different stories and feedback from the various delegates who were present at the meeting. As a collective, Outback Stores will continue to listen and work with community leaders in providing best retail standards, as well as creating more local jobs and training opportunities,” Michael Borg (CEO of Outback Stores).
